Kenya
Edify began its pilot program in Kenya in 2025.

The Need
Nationwide, less than 50% of students achieve the minimum high order proficiency level in reading.
Over 17 million children in Kenya are recovering from up to 9 months of lost learning due to COVID-19.
About 40% of students who begin grade 1 do not complete form 4 (grade 12).
36% of the Kenyan population live beneath the poverty line of $2.15/day.

Expansion Plans
Edify’s initial focus in Kenya will be in the Central, Rift Valley, and Coast regions, with plans to continuously expand its reach over the years. The organization will work closely with local partners to ensure its programs align with the specific needs of the Kenyan education landscape.
